With most catalogs, some accessories are completely discontinued while others are redesigned or reconfigured for the new catalog. Sometimes popular items are "discontinued" in their current packaging or style to come back with improved packaging or added product features. This year, no accessories are being reconfigured.

Pink Pirouette is that perfect "little girl pink".
Kiwi Kiss is a brighter Old Olive
Pacific Point is that perfect yacht-club blue.
Riding Hood Red is kind of brick-like.
Tangerine Tango is kind of fiery, reminds me of a mexican sunset orange.

My Color Inspiration #4

I am a *huge* fan of the Tori and Dean reality show. I know it's just a big waste of an hour every week, but I can't pull myself away. What does that have to do with stamping, you say? I came across a picture of Tori and Dean on my daily news from US weekly and Tori was wearing this WAY CUTE dress. Not only do I love everything about the dress, but I want the dress too. I'm sure I'll find it and it will be by some designer and be $400. So, in the meantime, it is my color inspiration. I'll be posting my card later...

Here are the Stampin' Up! colors I'm gonna go with for this challenge:

My first try at paper piecing

I don't know if just cutting out one piece counts as paper piecing, but it's more than just stamping. I won the stamp set free from Gina K. It's called Retro Boutique. All of the paper is Stampin' Up! (Groovy Guava and Whisper White cardstock, Groovy Guava Designer Paper). I first stamped the dress on the Whisper White in Stampin' Up!'s Basic Black ink. Then I stamped the dress again on the Groovy Guava Designer Paper and cut it out. Cutting around that hangar was a bugger! I didn't cut all the lacy fringe on the bottom. I also used the Word Window punch from Stampin' Up! for the sentiment.

I really like how quickly this card came together with all of the Stampin' Up! designer paper. And I picked the pattern for the dress and background, then used the back side for the other layer. The SU! designer paper is double-sided, so there's a lot of designs.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! except for the dress and sentiment.

And to boot....Gina K. herself commented below!  My job here is done....hehe!

In Colors and Pick-a-Petal

I was excited to try the One Sheet Wonder with all of the new In Colors after Sue did at the class on Saturday. So, I used Pick-a-Petal and all the new colors and played for a while. I am hooked on the OSW. Now that a whole bunch of sets have retired, I need to build up my cards to demo with new sets!

I'll be stalking the mailman again this afternoon hoping for my demonstrator copy of the new catalog! Otherwise, I am expecting UPS to drop off the cases I ordered by tomorrow!
