Michael's 40% coupon
If you have a Michael's by your house, click here and print a new online coupon. It is good through this Saturday, March 1st. Apparently, it is a trial since they've only done newspaper ads before. If I don't have a coupon, and it is a "coupon week" in the paper, my Michael's is great and will let me sign a paper that says I have not used a coupon that week. Then they'll give me the 40% off of my one item. I have heard that not all Michael's will do this.

My favorite blog....ever...(not stamp related)

My friend Holly introduced me to this blog last fall. It is called The Pioneer Woman Cooks. You must, must, must go see this site. I can spend obscenely, long periods of time there. Not only does Ree prepare the most *delicious* recipes, but she has a step-by-step photo tutorial. She uses regular ingredients that I usually have in my house, which is unbelievable. The best part, besides the photos, is that she is HILARIOUS. I am addicted to this blog and have made several recipes. The latest recipe is Sherried Tomato Soup. I'm dying to make it and I do not even like tomato soup. She lives on this ranch and is married to the man she refers to as "Marlboro Man". Go check it out! Let me know what you think and if you try something!
Here are the recipes I've tried:
Olive Cheese Bread....oh....so yummy. No one else in my house will even look at an olive, so I ate way too much of this.
Maple Frosted Cinnamon Rolls.....very time consuming, but the *BEST* cinnamon rolls I've ever had in my life. You know the yummy ones you buy from the nice Amish lady? Yep. These are the ones. Now, I have to warn you. These will make a big, gooey mess. And it makes like 7 pans at one time. You can freeze these, but they were not nearly as good. This is by far, my favorite TPWC recipe....so far.
Candy Cookies....Quick and easy when you want peanut butter and chocolate, but I prefer my husband's recipe for Peanut Butter Blossoms.
Biscuits and Gravy....just like my Grandma's recipe. So yummy. Again, I'm the only one who will eat this.
Have fun checking this out!

Math 911
As an elementary school teacher, and a mom, I thought this was hilarious. Kudos to the 911 operator for being so kind....

Pink and Brown Birthday Whimsy
Anybody who knows me can testify that I *love* pink and I love it even more when it is matched up with brown. And it uses my new *favorite* Berry Bliss Designer Paper. This was going to be one of the cards that we made at the Sale-a-Bration workshop. You can't tell from the photo, (unless you click on the photo for a close-up), but I used Crystal Effects on the pink plate to make it shiny like a real plate. I thought that was a mighty smart idea!

Birthday Box
Click on any image to make it larger...
I made this box a while ago and forgot about it. You use the 12x12 cardstock and stickers that come in the Simply Scrappin' scrapbooking sets from Stampin' Up! I think this set is from last year's Sell-a-Bration (now called Sale-a-Bration).
Use the Simply Scrappin' Kits to create the boxes. You can make 2 full boxes and card sets with one kit, plus have some extras that you could put together with various scraps to make a third.
You will need 12x12 patterned paper and solid paper. The patterned paper is for the lid and the card accent squares. The solid paper is for the box and the card bases. You will also use the stickers. These can also be divided equally between people for a class, just like the paper.
You will make 4 cuts, two on each side to make the middle "square" a flap.
The measurements are on the photos. The box is 3 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide at the sides. The bottom is 2 1/2 inches wide and 7 inches across. An eyelet goes where the x is for the ribbon closure.
This will be the BOX and it will be a solid color.
The lid that gets taped with Sticky Strip to the back of the box is 1x7. The 'front' of the lid is 1 1/2 x 7. Put an eyelet hole where the x is, then put a ribbon through it.
This is the LID template and it is on patterned paper.
For the card bases, you will use 2 different colors of solid cardstock. Cut each piece into 6x6 squares. You should have 4 of one color and 4 of the other. Fold these in half. These fit in the open ended envelopes (same as Long Notes).
For the card accent squares, use your patterned paper (left over from the lid) for 4 of the squares. Cut them at 3x3. Use another coordinating patterned paper for 4 additional squares of the same size. Use double-sided tape to attach them to the card bases.
Use the stickers in the SS kit to embellish. You don't even need to stamp. You could stamp the box but you don't need to.
I forgot to mention above....use the RED Sticky Strip for the box, unless you want to keep putting it back together.
This would be a great gift for someone!

Installing a Husband
INSTALLING A HUSBAND 1.0
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performanc e -- particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no a vail.
What can I do?
Signed, Desperate
---------------- --------------------------------------
Dear Desperate:
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: 'I Thought You Loved Me.exe' and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
But remember, over use of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in t he background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).
Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck, Tech Support
