In Color Workshop Cards

We made these two cards at my Stampin' Up! workshop last night. (I'll post the *way* cute Hershey Kiss box tomorrow....I'm too lazy to go downstairs and take the photo......)
The card on top is so fast! You could whip up a bunch of these quickly for a gift. Everyone used the Crop-a-Dile for the first time and were SO impressed! I am *in love* with this tool!
All ingredients are from Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Outlined for Fun, Dilly Dally Friends Stampin' Around wheel
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, eyelets, Crop-a-Dile

I just love how the colors on this one look together! The great thing about the All About U set is that everyone got to choose the words that work best....it could say:
Bless U, Celebrate U, Love, U, Miss U, Thank U, Happy For U, just be U, Good for U, or U are the best! The set also has a great little flower and heart that we used with VersaMark on the background for a subtle effect.
Ingredients are all Stampin' Up!
Stamps: All About U
Cardstock: Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White,
Ink: Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate, Versamark
Accessories: 1" circle punch, Signo White gel pen

Happy Birthday, Captain Carter!

(Click the photo for a close-up)
Today is our son Carter's 6th birthday. We had full-blown pirate parties on Saturday, with a pirate ship cake, pin-the-eyepatch on Captain Jack Sparrow, gold digging and walking the plank. This is the card I made for the thank you's. I got the idea from the A Muse card I made last week.
Ingredients:
Stamps: "Captain Jack" (A Muse), Simply Circles (Stampin' Up!), Outlined for Fun (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: VersaMark, Basic Black (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8 circle punch (Stampin' Up!)

And, here's a picture of the Captain, himself.... Happy Birthday Carter!

A Muse-a-Palooza card

I met up with three other Splitcoast Stampers last week. I'm in the cream sleeveless sweater (michlz319 on SCS), Mary (mlasse on SCS) is in pink. The front row is Erin (evander on SCS) and Meg (SCS Dirty Dozen!).

We went to chat at the local Panera and then went up to a LSS for A Muse-a-Palooza. This is the make-and-take that we did. Fun, fun, fun!

I won! I won!

Who doesn't like free stuff? And what girl doesn't love flowers? PRIMA flowers, that is! I won a $35 gift certificate from Paperosity thanks to Joan B.'s blog. You can read the original contest here and you can read about the answer here. I had a hard decision on what to order.....clear stamps (which I've never used), die cuts, prima flowers, buttons, brads....oh, the choices. So, I ended up with Primas, Primas and more Primas. And might I add that I placed the order on a Saturday afternoon, it was shipped Priority within an hour and I got it on Monday. How FABULOUS is that? Thanks to Joan B. and Paperosity!

So, now I'm waiting for my first order from the catalog to come. It wasn't supposed to come until tomorrow, but the UPS site says it's "out for delivery"! YEAH! Of course, in the meantime, I managed to place another order. Enough to get hostess benefits and free stuff....
:)

I have an action research plan due on Monday, which I haven't started. With all these Primas and my new order coming any minute, it looks like it's going to be a true test of my dedication.

Chipboard...finally!

I bought the OnBoard Simon Lower chip board months ago and could never bring myself to actually use it. What if I messed it up? What if I need the letters for a different project? So, after enough hoarding, I finally broke down this morning and used the letters "s" and "u" for my Stampin' Up! notebook. I keep records of who I invited to workshops, who came to classes, ideas for new classes, item numbers for the cardstock or ink club monthly buys, etc. I ripped off the ugly cover that was on this notebook before and started over today. AND, I got to use my new Crop-a-Dile to punch out the little holes for the brads! SO, SO, SO easy. I don't know how I lived without this thing. (See my post a few days down to read more...)

I am also a new fan of the Simply Scrappin' kits because of the tagboard stickers. These are so awesome. They're thick tagboard and they're stickers! All you do it peel and stick. If you want just the stickers, try the Accents & Elements. There is Build-a-Flower, Little Reminders Number 2 (which coordinates with Office Accoutrements), and Tagged (my probable next purchase!) They come in a cute little tin, too. Of course, I have one of these, but I'm hoarding those too......

Ingredients:
Simon Lower OnBoard chipboard
Simply Scrappin' Friends & Flowers (retired)
Office Accoutrements
Stampin' Up! brads
Stampin' Up! Sticky strip (LOVE THIS STUFF!)
So Saffron Classic Ink
assorted buttons

More Organization!

I decided that I've had my catalog for 6 days and it was HIGH time to get divider labels on each section of the catalog. I'm so used to where everything is and now I'm lost! Can't find anything! You would assume that looking at the new catalog for hours on end for the past six days, I'd have this thing memorized. Not so.

My first brainstorm was to print the headings on cardstock, punch them out, laminate using my Xyron laminator and then run it through the Xyron sticker maker. So......I did all that. They were beautiful. Except for one thing. After you laminate, the adhesive of the sticker doesn't stick to the lamination. Ugh.

So, back through the whole process again....print on Stampin' Up! Bordering Blue cardstock, punch out using a 1 1/4 inch circle punch and then through the sticker maker. PERFECTION. I also printed out TWO copies of the labels so that the words are on both sides. I stuck on the first sticker on one side, flipped the page and attached the second sticker/circle to the first one. Mighty genius, I think. Click on one of the pictures to see it close up for yourself.

If you would like the Word document for the labels, post a comment below with your email address and I'll send it right off to you! Why don't you subscribe while you're at it?

To answer the binding question....I took it to my local Office Max. I had them cut off the binding, laminate the front and back covers, then bind it. The whole deal cost me about $5. LOVE IT!

I need to order more Wild Wasabi paper. I've only had it for two weeks and I'm almost out already! I was reserved in my first order. I only spent $66! I know once I see examples that others have made my wish list will grow!
